Reminder to follow the forum rules and not spam in our threads. We will be handing out bans.

@miperton RGL has 7000 players, 1460 banned players, why would they want to triple the number of bans, and significantly reduce the number of players
-
@Ampy man i do not care
-
If i have a stigma against a certain player i can just get everyone on my team to report them claiming they said something in my discord thats racist that i can easily fabricate #gooutside
-
@vibeisveryo so first time offenders can just get away with it?

Are you telling people who are tired of slurs to git gud so they have enough pull on teams?
Yes. You can be an extremely, openly toxic person and still find a team provided that you’re good enough. The inverse works too.
I feel like we can agree this is a bug and not a feature. Good players should not be able to be toxic just because they’re good, and bad players should not need to be good to be treated with respect.
Telling people they need to be good enough to force teams to accept them for not using slurs is just saying slurs are acceptable to use at low skill players.
It works because, if you don’t have enough clout on a team to change their culture, you can move to a lower-level team where you have more sway in their decisions. Once you reach a low enough level, there are already enough teams forming at any given time that you can jump ship until you find someone you like better (or, even better, play on a team with your personal friends if you know that they’re nice).

Fraudulent reports are possible. This is not a fool-proof system, but the staff that work on the reports should be aware of this issue and subsequently deal with it. Multiple reports, making sure timestamps are included (both your own time and the time of the post), and a small bit of investigation. You can even ask the reporter to invite the staff to the discord/group chat so that they can do their own personal investigation. There are plenty of ways to handle this issue.

@page Sure, unless the evidence is concrete enough that the admins can be sure it’s true
-
@Ampy Thats the Stupidest thing ive ever heard
-
If people could be banned for discord messages, rgl would not have nearly enough admins to ban every1
-
all i’m saying is i was banned for using a slang slur in a scrim, and i know for 100% sure that nobody was actually offended by it. the person who reported me did not care and simply wanted an excuse for me to be banned.
i’m not saying people should be allowed to use slurs, i’m just saying the claim that “because someone reported it, someone was offended” is absolutely not correct. rules are made to be abused.
-
@Ampy It looks to me like you want to make the admins job a lot harder and significantly reduce the competitive player base. The RGL stance on toxicity is actually good right now with them not allowing slurs/toxicity in matches and scrims, RGL is too niche for a player who is on an RGL team saying a slur in a private discord to make RGL be seen in a bad light.
-
@megga agree completely
-
@vibeisveryo so you’re telling me that I can get anyone I want banned by having a group of friends reporting a fake screenshot and I can also say the n-word without getting punished if I’ve never said it before?! That’s fucking CRAZYYY!!!
-
hud_saytext_time 0 this game is already kinda toxic >_< at least it aint ugc gg

I’m skeptical that the admins would actually be able to conduct that thorough of an investigation every time someone submits a report over a Bad Word being used in a context that the admins know nothing about. Many past controversies over RGL administrative decisions suggest that this won’t actually happen. The rules need to be tailored to match reality.

banning n word would be rasist soo
