Didn’t 18 slots cause invite teams to sell roster rider spots to lower level players? -

Didn’t 18 slots cause invite teams to sell roster rider spots to lower level players?Easy solution would be to give 18 slots to the divs that don’t get placement medals.
- Lower div players tend to be less comfortable multiclassing, so they need more dedicated subs for individual classes
- No placement medal = reduced incentive to fuck around, same rationale as the anti-sandbagging part of things, but even more so because low divs don’t get money.

i will absolutely attempt to sell roster slots if i have the space for it

I’ve been asking for 18 slots for 2 seasons now…
Apparently I’m the only one that wants them according to head admin
-
there should be 18 roster slots
also as a side note, yeah it got changed cuz Someone sold spots to people and rgl got mad but…this is like when ur classmate got in trouble in the first grade and the teacher punished everyone. except in this example, the people didnt actually get in trouble, just the whole class got a blanket punishment and there was no actual punishment for the original “”“perpetrator”“”
if the reason is because of Someone selling spots, then why not just punish the dude selling spots and make it clear that behavior isnt allowed. why must i/my team be punished for some dude tryna cop 20 dollars worth of tf2 items from main players who want to brag about their undeserved invite badge
final thoughts- if u r a main player who paid for a spot on Someones team then tried to use it to look cool u r a soggy biscuit and thats on Jahseh

While I don’t have strong opinions personally on this, I can give you an answer to this question if you’re genuinely looking for one.
The reason is that it’s hard to prove when someone does this, unless they outright admit it. And then admins will get evidence for someone doing it, ban the leader of an invite team when they inevitably find out right before playoffs (when the leader will then vehemently deny it day-in and day-out, farting everywhere with all of their friends posting #freewhoever hashtags on the forums), and everyone will be pissy for the next 2 seasons until they find something else to complain about.
I don’t see it as a huge issue either way, personally. Everyone generally accepts ringers in higher divs, and lower divs have the ‘free first ringer’ rule. If you aren’t missing half of your team for a match, you should be good.

thats true, i hadnt really thought about it too hard but i wasnt super serious in my asking. im not advocating to ban Someone because the rule wasnt in place when Someone received money for roster spots, but i still dont really see how lowering it to 15 is one of the best solutions to this. they added a rule that u cant do that anymore, so cool and awesome. but why just add this on top of it, seems like overkill, esp when they originally had a 15 limit and it got changed back cuz everyone complained, and then WiLLMaTiC (i assume) reversed it back to 15. realistically, what is stopping anyone from selling 6 spots, and having a 9 main roster + 6 virgins who have mommy and daddy pay for virtual hats and items that cost like 25 bucks a pop? the rule is, not the cut from 18 to 15 slots.
tldr
make it 18 again doofuses -
Roster slots was decreased from 18 to 15 in season 8, two seasons ago. https://rgl.gg/Public/Articles/Default.aspx?a=1492&r=24
Gonna be frank, has ANYONE, ever actually fully utilized 15 slots on a team before and not relied on ringers instead? Part of me only thinks people are complaining because they just realized that it was decreased. Its one of those things that does not matter because its never been an issue.

oh trust me, people noticed instantly…I recall mcm used nearly 5 different demo ringers season 8
-
@Dimento why did they use 5 different demo ringers instead of having a dedicated demo sub?
