They were both extremely generous with their contributions to the prize pool so it was only fitting that they each won prizes. As great an event as it was, especially considering it was the first RESUP LAN, it was admittedly not perfect. If you have any feedback about any aspect of the tournament, please share it with us here on the RGL Forums event post so we can use it to improve our events in the future. -
venue was too small, there was plenty of room for the competitors but no place for the spectators. although the desk space we were given and the actual rentals themselves were really good for the LAN. there were also problems with players setting up there config so maybe one of the competitors or production members should make a tutorial or some form of instructions so that each player could set up there personal config without ending up with somebody else. seeding and swiss format were pretty good but I wasn’t sure where to check brackets. Above all else there should of been a discord for all the players and spectators going to the event to message and talk to each other to help with personal issues such as drivers, meal planners, and in case want to house/share a hotel they can message other players/spectators. I had to drop 120$ on an uber to go to the venue and if I was in contact with the rest of the people going to LAN I could of messaged somebody to share that ride and split the cost.

100% agree with this. In the future, a discord to coordinate things between staff, players, spectators, etc would be extremely nice.
The venue also was definitely too small for spectators, especially the 60+ spectators on Saturday.
The spectator space was essentially just narrow hallways where people had to crowd around super close together, which was both not covid safe nor comfortable
It also effectively blocked the space from allowing people being able to get through
I think froyo was the team closest to the restroom, and since there was a large crowd around them, it would be difficult to get through
There were a couple of small seating areas for spectators, but for some reason, the TVs were positioned above them, so it didn’t feel like there was much point in having the TVs. Also the broken AC was just unfortunate. Overall, finding a larger venue would be very nice for spectators. -

We do have a Discord server where all the team representatives, production casting organizations, casters, and other staff helping out with the event were invited to be in contact with tournament admins. This was used to provide continuous updates throughout the tournament, as well as provide bracket information. In this case, rainoflight and extine were the team representatives for your team. That being said, opening this up to spectators and other players would not be a bad idea in the future.

The venue for this particular event is unfortunately one of the smaller locations that Localhost has. They have a much bigger location that is about 2-3x bigger, has a stage, etc., in Philadelphia. Concerns about the venue being small are certainly valid though, and I believe future events here will be for smaller-scale TF2 events.

I think sticking to the tournament schedule would have been of great benefit for the viewer. Moving ahead without any formal announcement onto the grand finals, combined with timing of the super bowl, severely stunted what I think the viewership of this event could have been. If that isn’t feasible, some type of warning that things can move ahead of schedule without warning would be nice. Not to mention that it’s frustrating to tune in for the grand finals, only for it to be over by the time you do so.
I will also jump onto the train of thought that is the venue was too small. Yes it was a nice venue, however, as a spectator it wasn’t the most comfortable. I liked that you could kind of mingle and have close interaction with other players if you wanted, but standing to watch matches for hours on end is not ideal.

Yeah, this is a good point. We were ahead of schedule, so the teams decided to play the matches earlier. Moving forward, we will have to make sure we adjust the playoff structure, as well as make sure that this is communicated clearly to viewers if the matches do happen earlier.
