I could go for hours on about my favorite music, but to keep it short and readable, here are a bunch of albums I listened to for the first time in the past year or so that I’ve really loved:
-
Public Strain by Women (ghostly 60s pop/post-punk)
-
Pet Grief by The Radio Dept. (bittersweet dream pop that loves new order)
-
Two Nuns and a Packmule by Rapeman (goofy noise rock with screaming guitars)
-
1000 by Cheveu (weirdo synth-punk, reminds me of a french death grips with no rapping)
-
Moa Anbessa by Gétatchèw Mèkurya & The Ex (funky and exotic african saxophonist backed by a dutch art punk band)
-
-
I’m gonna be That Guy and say check out my music

@Uber-Alles fall of troy and chon’s nice. got into the two because of guitar hero lol
-
@kho same I don’t play gh anymore used to play that game a lot
-
@Uber-Alles yeah. used to play it whenever i got to my cousin’s house, but nowadays, i just play the fan-continuation game, clone hero
-
@kho I stopped playing clone hero in like 2016 or 2017
-
only real 2020 albums i’ve enjoyed have been Shinichi Atobe - Yes and Naked Flames - All Singing / All Dancing, but not a lot has come out obviously.
i guess Park Hye Jin - How Can I was decent, Like this is an insane track but the middle of the EP is lacking the vibe I wanted
recently been listening to some of Alan Vega’s solo stuff, IT was pretty good, Prayer (loud + noisy warning if you care) being a big favorite off the album, still need to get more into industrial and power noise / power electronics tbh
also have had patten - agen blasting more than a few times in the past month, and oh man this random ass russian house LP a buddy showed me has also been blasted multiple times, it just goes
-
I don’t really keep up with music happenings, but a couple of the songs I heard and loved recently which were also 2020 releases are:
Nada (Lido Pimienta)
Snakeskin (Rina Sawayama)Generally, I’ve enjoyed a fair deal of the music put out by Mor ve Ötesi and by Netta.
And finally, some songs I always find hypnotic:
Trial of Thunder (Danny Baranowsky and FamilyJules)
Grand Ceremony (Darren Korb)
Magpie (The Unthanks)
Stella Splendens in Monte (perf. Oni Wytars) -
music i been listening to more in 2020:
lil wayne
wu tang clan
notorious big
drake but old
childish gambino
partynextdoor
100 gecs

aminé
my own musicaminé and party are very underrated
