RE: LFT adv medic s14
I mentored vandeer for around two seasons and saw him go from a mediocre AM med to being ready for low advanced; this was two seasons ago. Vandeer has decent mechanics and is really smart relative to the skill pool in advanced. His biggest issue from what I saw is being consistent with his comms. As long as he keeps working on his comming, he can be competitive for a high advanced team.

RE: LFT Main solly s14
I was the mentor for Lost In Walmart the season cure played main soldier for them.
Briefly; the highs: friendly, didn’t ever tilt, open to feedback and wasn’t close minded
the lows: dm, his ability to implement feedback effectively wasn’t great, and his eagerness to win seemed a little low relative to his teammates
overall, if he hasn’t been playing the past season or two, cure can probably hang with a low main teamthe biggest issue cure had was that he just felt like a new player. considering that he had no experience on soldier that season, he picked things up fine, but he was surrounded by teammates that were, in my opinion, capable of placing in main. he was consistently one of the slower players as far as learning new things goes.
that being said, if he really wants to win as his post suggests, I can see him being high main by the end of the season if he works with a good mentor and he practices his dm a lot. but… so can anyone…also you have to deal with the stigma of having a furry on your team.

RE: DR spy medigun pickup
Hello everyone, as one of the people who discovered the “tech”, I wanted to share my own input on it.
One, to johhny’s point of “No decent invite team would pop Uber with a flashing Uber demoman”, you can uber more than just a demo, we tested it in scrims and the other team ALWAYS forced when we ubered a phlog pyro into swift upper (we were scrimming an invite team). Also, you can send more than just that, it’s fairly easy to uber a mantreads soldier and a demo and flash them both, and still keep 40-50% of your uber. If your team isn’t going to force to that, then gg you guys are nuts.
To vibe’s point of “this isn’t an exploit”, I want to make sure we are all aware that an EXPLOIT from RGL’s pov does not necessarily mean “cheating”.
The example that comes to mind for me is “Animation canceling by destroying a teleporter to cancel the phlogistinator animation is not permitted” which is found in section 1003.4 of the rgl general rules.
The pyro is technically supposed to stay ubered for a moment if he gets knocked out of his taunt animation, but the fact that it gives one team a ridiculous advantage over the other team means that it is banned.
I think this same logic applies to every single person saying “this requires setup” or “it has tradeoffs” etc. Having a phlog pyro get uber for 3 seconds by destroying a tele also requires setup and has tradeoffs, yet people generally agree it should be banned.
I’m aware that this isn’t a 1:1 comparison, but it was the most prominent example that came to mind.Basically, yes, it does require some amount of setup, and yes, it is technically a creative combination of intended mechanics, but at the end of the day it gives one team an unfair, essentially irreplicable (for the defending team) advantage that makes the game less competitive.

RE: jimsgims - lft s10 sniper [adv/chal]
really solid mechanics
some of the best spy awareness I’ve seen in any sniper
decent positioning
some attitude issues that can use improvement, but if he gets on top of that easily a challenger sniper -
RE: Koth_Lakeside_r
the box outside of main can only be jumped on by regular classes from the floor on the red side. idk if this is intentional or not but it’s bothering me so I’m posting about it.

RE: adv pyro sub s16
smart + good attitude + cares about his team winning rather than just playing good for himself
give him a shot!!!

ben lft
medic only
hi all, I think I learned a bunch from my first season playing invite and I’d love the chance to get to play it again.
I’d also be perfectly happy in advanced with a team that wants to really improve together
I watch my own demos and I don’t play dnd on scrim nightsben.#5969
