Good post. As well, NR 6s is absolutely not a good gamemode to introduce people to competitive, as it is not a good representation of what competitive TF2 actually is. I understand them wanting it to be “accessible” to new players, but this is not how you do it.

RE: Thoughts on RGL's Future (by me :D)
Mothership Coming from someone who played the cup, I literally just signed up to dick around with friends. Instead of just looking at pure turnout, look at what the community is saying about it. Half of us just sign up because we enjoy playing the game, and there was lots of criticism about using NR6s as a gamemode to introduce people to competitive because it is a bad representation of what the current competitive formats are actually like, as well as being a poorly designed gamemode. “Just stop signing up for it” is an awful response, because we literally just want to play Team Fortress 2 with each other at the end of the day. This is a poor excuse to justify continuing running this gamemode, if I can even say you have justified it.

Steel is a map which requires proper team coordination. Lakeside is a sniper-ridden hellscape dotted with desiccated corpses, crowned by a single cramped slaughterhouse. You may like it if you wish. It is not to be compared to a real team-coordination map.
At no point was Lakeside compared to Steel, you’re the only one who brought it up. I agree it is barely a team-coordination compared to Steel, but the point was that Lakeside would likely be much better enjoyed if players learned how to properly coordinate on the map, as minimal or as large as said coordination would be. If you watch Lakeside matches, mostly in lower divisions, many teams barely even toyed with bathhouse when they played. There is obviously a lot to be learned on the map, and I think even if it’s not enjoyable, it at least deserves a better chance.

RE: Jättestor LFP Main S17
Update: MagicGnome and PulseDog have been rostered on engi and spy respectively, and Av3r4ge has been confirmed on scout. If anyone is interested in subbing on those classes feel free to lmk but otherwise we are no longer taking tryouts for those classes.

-I think everyone hates either proot, lakeside, cascade, or all of the above. Having to play multiple maps per season that you dislike is probably going to be draining.
To be completely honest, I think the biggest reason people didn’t enjoy maps like Proot and Lakeside was that there simply wasn’t enough time to properly learn the maps. Many mentors weren’t familiar enough with them (mostly Proot), so it made it considerably harder for players to learn them. If you don’t know a map, you probably aren’t going to enjoy it. A longer off season would give teams more time to familiarize themselves with the maps and practice them, which would give us a better idea if the map itself is the issue or if it’s a simple case of unfamiliarity.
I am aware that many teams may not want to scrim those maps in offseason, but I feel extending it would at least give them a better chance to become familiar with the maps and give them a more honest try.

RE: Jättestor LFP Main S17
Update 3: Jurgles has been rostered for pyro, MagicGnome has moved to Heavy and Alucard has been rostered for engineer. With that, we have a full main roster and only need subs now! Soldier sub still definitely needed, and other subs are welcome

Update post 2: Avery has been picked up on medic, and we may potentially be rostering more players before next week, but will depend. Regardless, thank you to all our medic tryouts, and sub spot is still open to any that are interested.

RE: NovaSc6ut lft main sniper
from my experience playing against him this guy is actually a really good up and comer. absolutely a solid pick for a high main team, and is improving rapidly from what i can tell.
