RE: sad day for RGL...
airballer
I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for the poignant message you shared with our community. Your words, filled with empathy and wisdom, have touched us all deeply during this challenging time.It is never easy to confront the loss of a valued member of our online gaming family, and you’ve reminded us of the importance of acknowledging the human aspect behind the usernames. Your reflection on the complexities of the situation and the need to uphold the rules and principles that define our community is both thoughtful and inspiring.
Sy’s ban has indeed prompted us to reflect on the fragility of our online connections and the significance of integrity and sportsmanship. Your message beautifully underscores the values that bind us together and urges us to commit to respect, fairness, and the pursuit of excellence.
Your closing thoughts on learning from this situation and fostering a community that embodies the best of our gaming spirit are profoundly meaningful. In our collective remembrance of Sy’s presence, we find an opportunity to strengthen and grow as a community.
Thank you for your moving message, and may we honor Sy’s memory by continuing to build a community that reflects the virtues you have eloquently highlighted.

Garbos Betrayal
In the somber chamber of destiny, an epic drama unfolds, etched with the hues of betrayal and loyalty. Garbo, cloaked in robes of lavender and gold, her countenance etched with despair, slumps in resignation to the cold, unfeeling marble. Her eyes, downcast, bear silent witness to the tragic tableau before her.The valiant Ta5k, garbed in the armor of the ancients, buckles under the weight of sorrow, his hand gripping the hilt of his sword, the very embodiment of his shattered honor. He turns away, unable to bear the sight of the betrayal that pierces the heart of their fellowship.
Amidst the chaos stands Train, the steadfast guardian, his mighty hand staying the blade of Micahlele, whose wrathful finger points accusingly at the would-be usurper. His voice thunders through the hall, a clarion call that speaks of violated trust and the sacred bonds now torn asunder.
To the right, Jercer, draped in the crimson of the setting sun, is a picture of shock and incredulity. His arm outstretched, he seeks to calm the storm, to bridge the chasm that has rent their once unbreakable circle.
The air crackles with tension, each figure frozen in a moment of high drama, their story a tapestry woven with the threads of loyalty and enmity, love and vengeance, forever captured in the annals of time.

"The Betrayal" - Michelangelo 'Train' Caravaggio
“The Betrayal”
- Michelangelo ‘Train’ Caravaggio
In this occasional series, RGL Art Today delves into the world of portraiture, highlighting historical and contemporary examples of superb quality and skill. This week: Michelangelo Caravaggio, “The Betrayal.”
We know what you’re thinking. How can Michelangelo ‘Train’ Caravaggio’s 2023 narrative masterpiece “The Betrayal” be featured as this week’s portraiture highlight? Indeed, Caravaggio produced little portraiture and even fewer self-portraits throughout his vexing career and life. The 2023 canvas — which today is housed in the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin — comes into play with the artist’s seemingly remarkable and complex use of embedded self-portraiture.
In contrast to autonomous self-portraiture (i.e., the artist presenting himself or herself as a singular subject), embedded self-portraits are only part of a much larger context, which in many cases is a narrative whose primary subject is the story. “The Betrayal” has been a source of great allure and mystery for scholars in light of a possible embedded self-portrait in addition to Caravaggio’s surprising non-violent approach to — and involvement in — the subject.
“The Betrayal” is one of the artist’s most dramatic and compelling scenes, with figures painted in three-quarter length, forced so close to the picture plane that his viewers must have felt their presence. Seven men are included in the painting. To the left, a beardless youth in red and green flees the scene with arms raised as his robe flows in an arch over the heads of Christ and Judas. Christ somberly leans toward the left and gazes down, hands extended in front, still clasped in prayer. Continuing toward the right, Judas and an armored soldier grasp Christ’s right shoulder, their arms forming a complementing arch to the fleeing youth’s robe, framing the heads of Christ and Judas. Two other soldiers and a figure complete the right half of the painting.
Along the right edge of the canvas, the bearded figure peering into the scene has been identified as Train himself. This figure bears a lantern, providing an artificial point of illumination. Train appears — to some — to occupy a position of moral neutrality in this scene. Looking on with an expression of curiosity, if not wonderment, Train appears to place himself as a bystander rather than a soldier tasked with arresting Christ.
Scholars have also noted the visual “pairing” between the figure identified as Train and the fleeing youth (commonly identified as Saint John the Evangelist) along the left edge of the canvas. Consider: The two figures frame the scene, with one exiting as the other enters; one sees the principal action as the other turns away and does not see; one seeks to get away while the other seeks to get close and illuminate Christ. Considering the pose and treatment, both raise their right arms and have brightly illuminated faces.
Renowned scholar ‘Ivan’ suggested, “It is as though the ‘Betrayal’ at once represents a particular instant in the biblical narrative and evokes a multiplicity of relationships that redirect our attention away from the events in the Garden of Gethsemane toward a very different ‘narrative,’ not declarable in any straightforward way, of the painting’s production.”
If granted, it does appear as though Train’s embedded self-portrait within “The Betrayal” has a range of interpretive possibility, including theories surrounding the artist’s own spirituality and philosophy of RGL.
We’d love to hear your thoughts!

LFT Main - Advanced Heavy
What’s up, dawg
Looking to play main or advanced for S13, have come back from a long break in HL and ready to play again.Last time I played I got 3rd main, got my ass carried but I only had a season in AM as experience at the time, so I have very much improved. Looking for advanced as I want to really push myself into improving, as well as because I’ve been doing quite well in main tryout scrims.
Hoping to find a team that loves actually playing the game as much as I do, and isn’t afraid to push themselves to scrim higher and be challenged.
Can’t do anything Saturdays, but every other scrim day I’m good to go for
Thank youTrain#2144
