RE: Division names are ???
the names are fine and anyone who bothers to play will know what divs are which skill level purely based on the order the divs show up in on the site
just like u wouldn’t expect someone who’s never played CSGO, league, dota, rocket league, etc to know what ranks mean what, they’ll figure it out by playing the game or by simply looking it up (same result here!)

The cleaver is too overcentralizing. It is by far the best available secondary and every scout player who doesn’t use it are gimping themselves. With this weapon, the optimal play style for scout is to spam it off cooldown across the map and we should not encourage that type of degenerate gameplay. Highlander does not need another spam class.
there was a point in time where i advocated for banning it quite a bit but didn’t receive any real agreement and nothing came of it, eventually i stopped caring about the gamemode and stopped trying
my one note to this is that you could argue that by using the Toys in general, you are losing potential DPS, since the scattergun is absolutely busted and the best weapon in the game, but yea, ban the cleaver already
Sure, it gives scout something to do during downtimes but it’s so brainless and too effective for the effort it requires. I think if scout players learned cleaver spots (akin to lining up your crosshair to throw a nade in CSGO) people will learn how truly oppressive it truly is.
i actually did also go through a time (right before I quit) where I hunted around product for this exact thing, csgo smoke setups for the wrap assassin and cleaver, specifically for standard sniper spots (on rock, on china, on porch, cliff, bottom cliff, concrete), some of these were pretty easy to find, others had too much variance (rock is too big, personally couldn’t find an angle that hit a good region of porch / next to porch), the rest were pretty fuckin easy to find, and if there were any actual scouts that cared enough about HL to lab it hard enough, cleaver would have been banned already for this exact reason imo
invite players be complaining about the invite meta of highlander for ages but refuse to vote for bans on the CC / spam weapons plaguing the gamemode, get the cleaver out, the scorch shot out, wrangler (koth specifically, wrangler has an excuse on pl and ad), banners, shields, etc and you’d actually have something considered competitive maybe

I’ve had numerous qualms with this entire operation since it’s inception and regardless of my retirement/inactivity I’m going to refrain from divulging further out of fear receiving the same RGL ban/subsequent blacklisting that has befallen a good majority of my peers for challenging your admins.
lol big fan of this whole idea that RGL stomps out any idea differing from the admins as if any of us care enough about random peoples’ opinions on the league or staff like that, theres a huge difference between saying the n word and getting banned for it, vs stating yr opinion and me calling u a dumbass for it
anyway while i agree that certain pieces of the website are a bit confusing or out of place, clicking League and then League Standings literally brings you right here with this at the very top
so any idea that you don’t know which divs are which is hilarious, not to mention they’re literally just the ESEA divs but we changed Open to Amateur to avoid confusion

RE: We need more game modes: a discussion
the issue with most other gamemodes (and most maps in general, to be honest) is that they’re hard-focused on what works best for pubs (24+ players)
ctf in cmpa is cool because its 4v4 with item pickups where you have very specific roles that can be interchanged based on who’s up and who’s where. ctf could maybe(?) work in a very specifically made competitive mode with very specific classes hardlocked (frig off engineers, heavies, pyros, and maybe some other class) and it might work. ctf in hl seems like it’d be stalemates on stalemates as half of your team would have no reason to leave the flag
you know what’d be cool actually? payload race but the carts automatically move and can be stopped by someone on the enemy team being near it, you’d have designated defenders on their cart (cool), designated defenders on your cart (cool), some flank holders maybe, could even have actual roamer gameplay in hl perhaps (really cool, fuck da black box). the coolest part would be that instead of holding 1 point repeatedly like in koth, with the cart moving, you would constantly be fighting in new territory which could be really cool, would require teams to be good at adapting or something. probably a bad idea actually but idk sounds pretty tight to me man
