@Benjy52 This kind of defeatist attitude is exactly why this continues to be such a problem in the community. Just because something will likely always exist on some level doesn’t mean we can’t or shouldn’t work to combat it. “Oh, you got mugged? I would recommend just not reacting to it and just take it on the chin.” ??? What you’re saying is completely unreasonable in a real life context, and it should be here too.

Gossip and shittalking are inevitably part of gaming communities, and I think everyone agrees on that. Taking that in stride is part of being in the community to a certain extent. However, there’s absolutely no reason continued targeted harassment or personal attacks/insults unrelated to the game need to exist or should have any place in our community, and to say that we shouldn’t care because they’ll always exist on some level is just dumb.

I think I’ve got another season or two in me before I get a life, so I’m LFT S9.

In order of interest:
Solly (Adv/Main) - I placed 2nd this season in Main, and learned a fuck ton while doing so. Looking for adv or maybe top Main
Med (Invite/Chal) - Based on tryouts/ringing, I should be top Chal or low Invite. Most of my med exp is 6s (Adv), but I learn fast and have big brain
Engie (Main) - I fuckin love engie
Sniper (IM?) - My sniper’s at best low Main (probably more IM), but it would be lots of fun
Demo (Main) - I’d consider playing demo for the right team

Covid’s a thing, so I have great availability. I’m happy to play seriously/demo review/etc, but am also fine with more chill teams.

I’m also an rgl admin, so I physically cannot lose.

Bump! For season 9.

This is a cleaned up and commented version of my medic script. The big things here are

1. Press R to say a random voice line to mask uber. Press middle click to fake uber.
2. Press and hold mouse2 on any weapon and you’ll switch to your medigun and use
3. Hold down mouse4/mouse5 to pull out your crossbow/melee. As far as I know I’m the only med that has this, but it’s super convenient once you get used to it and keeps your keyboard hand free for movement etc.
4. Press F5 and F6 to switch to your loadouts A and B

I also cleaned up a reduced version of my base.cfg which has my null movement script, bhop binds, etc. I exec this in all of my class configs to reset my binds to default, since otherwise my med binds would carry over to other classes, etc.

I didn’t explain some parts of this in a lot of detail, but am definitely happy to go into more detail if you’ve got questions about it.
